Calling all gays, theys and allies! We’re looking for a few volunteers to help spread the pride in the Bowfest parade!

Wear It Purple Day – Friday, August 28

Wear It Purple Day is an opportunity to show 2SLGBTQIA+ young people that they are seen, valued, and supported for exactly who they are.

At Bowen Island Pride Society, we know that even small acts of visibility and kindness can make a big difference. Whether you're a parent, teacher, coach, employer, neighbour, friend, or ally, you help shape a community where young people can feel safe to be themselves.

If you'd like to take part, here are a few simple ways to show your support:

💜 Wear something purple on Friday, August 28.

💜 Start a conversation about inclusion and acceptance.

💜 Share a photo in your purple attire and tag Bowen Island Pride Society—we'd love to celebrate our community's support.

Every visible act of allyship sends a message that 2SLGBTQIA+ youth belong and are valued here on Bowen Island.

Mark your calendars early, make sure you’re not planning an off-island excursion. Pride will be back same time next year on Saturday, June 5! We can’t wait to share what we’re planning with you.
